A Love Beyond Time II

It is now the new year, and I decided to head back out to Indian Rocks Beach. I have been away for almost a month and while away I tried doing more research on Astor’s life. It turns out he was a man with little info to be found. An interesting man of mystery.

Ever since that evening when I felt someone or something watching me I have wondered and created this whole “Somewhere In Time” kind of fantasy. The sun is setting and the water is calm, with lazy waves crashing onto the sandy shoreline. I am rather deep into my writing sitting there unaware of my surroundings. As the sun is closer to being finally at rest for the day, I decide to light some candles around me. The air is still. And as out of the abyss a slow faint fog ascends onto the beach. I look around and discover I am the sole individual to be found. The fog continues to trickle in.

As I light the fourth candle and return to my blanket on the sand, I re-compose my thoughts and delve into my writing. Again I can feel the presence of another. I know someone is there, someone is out here watching me! I ever so slowly turn and look around and offer these words: Is it you? Really you? Are you the one? If so please give me a sign of some sort? Astor please…

Just as I finish my plea, one by one each of my four white candles lose their flame. One by one. I stand up and spin around and survey the scene, my eyes darting side to side, into the lush greenery, rocks and yet nothing.

Astor, it is you. I know it, and I am not sure why exactly, but I feel it inside, in my heart. And whenever I think of you and your lost love, I feel compelled to be out here with you. To have a love so strong like yours, to feel your hands stretch out through time to find that one lost love. To reunite finally. It warms me as it pains my heart. Tell me, if you can, what can I do to help you Astor?

I stand there for what seems hours, and realize at some point that the fog has disappeared. Was it ever there even? It is then that I notice the foot prints again, this time they are circling me all around my blanket with 3 loops around. With no beginning or ending? Does this mean something?

“Astor, thank you for making yourself known this evening, I look forward to the next encounter, and perhaps you can share more with I?

I gather up my things, and run off to my car. Unaware that I have forgotten one of the white candles…
